Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Are dogs allowed at the woodfair?
A. Yes - only under close control and kept on the lead please. All dog owners are asked to be responsible owners, and to clear up after their pet.
Q. If the weather is wet, will there still be a woodfair?
A. Absolutely. At all stages of the event planning contingencies have been put in place to ensure that the event goes ahead, no matter what the weather might do. There is also a special wet weather car park. Only in the case of severe weather warnings or high wind speeds will the event be cancelled.
Q. What time does the event start?
A. The woodfair starts at 10.00am and closes at 5pm.
Q. What about Safety and First Aid?
A. St John Ambulance will once more be there to provide basic first aid cover. A full risk assessment is also carried out, with regular inspections throughout the day. There is also an Emergency Evacuation & Procedures Plan.
Q. What toilet facilities will there be?
A. There will be plenty of single toilets, and one toilet suitable for the disabled, with baby changing facilities.
Q. Is the woodfair suitable for disabled persons?
A. Although obviously affected by the weather, the woodfair should be fully accessible to disabled persons. Mobility scooters may be booked in advance, provided by Wheels for Freedom. These will then be able to be collected from the main car park. Please phone 01202 670450 between 11am and 3pm Monday to Friday to book over the phone. Alternatively, see the Wheels for Freedom website for details.
Q. Can I camp at the woodfair overnight?
A. Although the camping facilities are aimed primarily at traders and exhibitors, public camping may be permitted by arrangement with the event organisers only.
