The Penpoint

I have been making Hand turned wooden writing Pens and boxes in Bridport, Dorset for four years but I have been working with wood for at least fifteen years. I pride myself in only making pens and boxes from sustainable sources and only timber that grows in Great Britain. Much of my timber comes from local parklands and woods or when I am hedge laying and pruning in the winter months. I also turn pens from wood cut from garden shrubs for example English Lilac, Smoke bush, Almond and I have a large selection of some very unique timbers that grow naturally in Britain including some very rare specimen timbers brought to this country by plant collectors in the 17C and 18C.

Using a handcrafted pen from The Penpoint evokes an air of class and nostalgia each time you put pen to paper. All pens are finished with several layers of a hardwearing polish and a product called 'Renaissance' wax (as used by the British Museum to protect their valuable furniture). The boxes are finished with beeswax or French polish.
